Wood on Wood - two ply wood veneers are manufactured with the grain of the face veneer adhered in the opposite direction of the back veneer. This type of construction produces a dimensionally stable product that reduces the tendency of the face veneer to expand and contract across the width of the grain. This process still allows for great veneer flexibility, virtually no bubbling during application and no visible "black lines" sometimes apparent with phenolic backs. Paper Backed - these veneers are manufactured by permanently bonding the wood face veneer utilizing heat and pressure to a resin saturated backer sheet. The backer sheet prevents adhesive from the back side and finishes from the face side from bleeding through while at the same time maintaining the overall flexibility of the wood face veneer. These backer sheets are available in a variety of thicknesses ranging from 5 mil to 30 mil. Paper backed and wood on wood veneers are readily available in most common species such as Alder, Ash, Birch, Cherry, Mahogany, Red Oak, White Oak, and Walnut. Exotic species are quickly available through our efficient special order program. Back to Top |

Wood edgebanding - actual wood edgebanding is produced in the majority of the species that hardwood plywood is manufactured with. Wood edgebanding allows for a nice finished edge to be applied to drawer fronts, cabinet doors, and shelves made from veneer core plywood. Several species and sizes of pre-finished wood edgebanding are produced to provide that exact match to import and domestic pre-finished plywood panels. Polyester/PVC - colored polyester/PVC edgebanding is produced to match the majority of the melamine color options from the various brands distributed throughout our market coverage. Polyester/PVC edgebanding provides that finished look to institutional casework and European styled cabinetry. Edgebanding is manufactured in both pre-glued and non-glued varieties. The pre-glued is utilized primarily for smaller jobs in an iron on application. The non-glued is primarily manufactured in larger length rolls and is applied in more commercial application using edgebanding machinery. Both wood and polyester/PVC edgebanding is available in a variety of sizes, colors, and finishes in many of our distribution facilities. Special needs can always be quickly accommodated through our efficient special order program. Back to Top |
